This is the almost Full Moon setting on May 5, 2012 at 5:43AM EDT.

No the moon did not have a baby :o)
This is the moon setting on Saturday morning May 5th and it is about to hit a street light.

The moon rise on May 4 and 5 side by side to show what a difference a day makes, time and position in particular. Imaged each night from a patio chair at my front door.
The last two nights of watching the Moon rise have been a real treat. First I was fortunate to have clear views and second to have some great friends here on the vine to share it with.
Well the Super Moon of 2012 is now in the book and quite a few people are posting beautiful images here and on the internet. How was I to be a little different, unique, well I must admit that was not my original plan.
Fate’s fickle finger had a role to play and due to technical problems (fat fingers, bad eyesight, my dog ate it, Gandolf did it) I collected a batch of over exposed moon images last night. I forgot to change one setting. Such is life.

The image at the right is the one purposefully bad image that turned out to be the one good image. Don’t feel sorry for me because I still got to see and enjoy the show. The telescope was not in the plans for viewing close to the horizon and that was fortunate.
I’m not complaining, merely explaining that I didn’t fall asleep and miss it, I was awake and messed it up, stuff happens. On the bright side, there is always tonight!

Back in the saddle again and moseyed over to the park fence just after 9 tonight to take another shot at the moon. Still every bit a beautiful sight :o)

Still looks full with a wonderful red hue and still super in my book :o)
